Numerous guests from leading Austrian and international companies accepted an invitation to attend an event entitled "The enforcement of actions for damages in cartel cases" held in the conference rooms of CHSH Cerha Hempel Spiegelfeld Hlawati on Tuesday 12 February 2019.
Dr. Anna Wolf-Posch, LL.M. (Partner, CHSH) – following an introduction by CHSH anti-trust partner Dr. Bernhard Kofler-Senoner, LL.M – gave a lecture on "The enforcement of actions for damages in cartel cases" in Austria. After this lecture, Hon.-Prof. Dr. Irene Welser (Partner, CHSH) examined the subject of "Cartel damages actions before ordinary courts and arbitration tribunals".
In his presentation, Vitaly Pruzhansky Ph.D. (RBB Economics, Brussels) gave an overview of the "Economic methods used for the purpose of damage assessment". Afterwards, Dr. Till Schreiber (CDC Cartel Damage Claims, Brussels) provided information on "The assignment model" for actions for damages in cartel cases.
In the lively panel discussion that followed, the speakers discussed questions from the audience and the practical challenges posed by the enforcement of actions for damages in cartel cases.
