On Feburary 11 2026, the empolyment law them had the pleasure of hosting an legal perspectives event on the EU Pay Transparency Directive at the CERHA HEMPEL Bel Etage.
Following the opening remarks by partner Christopher Peitsch, senior counsel Susanne Molitoris and associate Nina Neumaier provided a concise and practical overview of the legal framework and the key compliance obligations for companies arising from the Directive. The key message was that even without knowledge of the Austrian implementation law, preparatory measures such as creating job profiles and comparison groups are already strongly recommended.

Digital Assets in Enforcement and Insolvency
On Monday, 30 June 2025, we had the pleasure of hosting an inspiring evening at our offices for the presentation of the new book by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Matthias Lehmann and Univ.-Prof. Dr. Christian Koller (both University of Vienna).
Together with Philipp Bohrn (Managing Director, Bitpanda) and our partner Oliver Völkel, the authors explored the latest developments and legal challenges surrounding digital assets in the context of enforcement and insolvency.
The panel offered valuable insights from academia, legal practice, and the crypto industry—sparking dynamic discussion and interdisciplinary exchange.

AI & legal tech between expectations and reality
On Tuesday, 17 June 2025, CERHA HEMPEL hosted another edition of the Legal Perspectives series at its Bel Etage. Following opening remarks by Hans Kristoferitsch (CERHA HEMPEL) and Ruben Hetfleisch (AI Austria), Alina Alavi Kia and Stephanie Maier-Herbeck presented best practices for risk classification in legal departments.
Ines Micheler (APG) and Niklas Holy (GesetzeFinden.at) provided practical insights into AI compliance, complemented by an interactive case study highlighting real-world challenges and solutions.
The event concluded with a panel discussion on Legal Tech – Vision vs. Reality, where Bernhard Landrichter, Max Kindler, Jakobus Schuster, and Constantin Wintoniak shared perspectives on current developments, practical experiences, and future trends in Legal Tech.

The new Whistleblower Protection Act
