On Tuesday 6 June 2023, CERHA HEMPEL together with BDO Austria hosted yet another Legal Perspectives event in the conference rooms of CERHA HEMPEL. This time, the focus was on the huge expansion of cybersecurity requirements for companies introduced by the NIS2 Directive.
The event was officially kicked off by CERHA HEMPEL partners Thomas Trettnak and Hans Kristoferitsch, as well as Christoph Reiter and Roman Heidinger (both CERHA HEMPEL), who provided an overview of the main regulatory content of the NIS2 Directive from a legal perspective.
BDO partner Ewald Kager then discussed how technical and organisational measures from the NIS2 Directive can be implemented. Dietmar Mandl (Austrian Power Grid AG) and Boris Treml (CERHA HEMPEL) then presented a number of fascinating insights into the practical aspects and challenges of implementing the NIS2 Directive in an affected company. In the panel discussion that followed, the issue of the liability of executive bodies – which is quite controversial – was discussed in particular. We eagerly look forward to continuing the discussion.
