"And the CHSH LAWard 2015 goes to ..." CHSH Cerha Hempel Spiegelfeld Hlawati has answered this question in cooperation with the business law programme at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Wien). With a total prize fund of EUR 4,000, the CHSH Best Thesis Award – LAWard 2015 – is presented to those students who have written the best dissertations on the subject of law and commercial law and was just awarded by CHSH for the seventh time.
The official award ceremony was held on Tuesday 19 January 2016 in the conference rooms of CHSH Cerha Hempel Spiegelfeld Hlawati in the presence of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ewald Nowotny, Governor of the Austrian National Bank (OeNB).
As an international corporate law firm, CHSH aims to support high-quality education and practical legal training and to support those students and graduates who have shown themselves to be particularly gifted and talented individuals. The winners of this year's LAWard were selected by a panel of judges headed by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Georg Kodek, LL.M. (Civil and Corporate Law, Vienna University of Economics and Business) and Dr. Clemens Hasenauer, LL.M. (CHSH Partner) together with Univ.-Prof. Dr. Erich Vranes, LL.M. and Univ.-Prof. DDr. Peter Lewisch (attorney at CHSH).
The winners of the LAWard 2015 are: Dr. Alexander Reich-Rohrwig and Dr. Johannes Wühl in the PhD thesis category, Jonathan Fritz, BSc (WU), LL.M. (WU) for his Master's thesis and Corina Kruesz, LL.B. in the undergraduate dissertation category. "The jury was very impressed by the high quality of all the winning entries and the way in which the subjects were treated. We are pleased to present the LAWard 2015 to the winners in recognition of their excellent work", said Dr. Clemens Hasenauer who heads the Corporate Transactions Department at CHSH.
Podium discussion on current economic developments
Following a keynote speech given by Governor Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ewald Nowotny on "The Remit of Central Banks – Experiences and Perspectives", a number of current economic and legal issues were debated before a distinguished audience during a podium discussion by a panel consisting of Governor Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ewald Nowotny, Univ.-Prof. Dr. Georg Kodek, LL.M. (Honorary Counsellor of the Supreme Court), Univ.-Prof. DDr. Peter Lewisch (attorney at CHSH) and Dr. Clemens Hasenauer, LL.M (CHSH Partner).
