CERHA HEMPEL appoints four new counsel: Stephanie Maier-Herbeck, Claudia Hanslik-Schneider, Alistair Gillespie, Tobias Tangl

Counsel make a significant contribution to the sustainable development of CERHA HEMPEL. They not only have many years' experience both at home and abroad, they also distinguish themselves through the excellent quality of the advice they provide to their clients.

 

MMag. Stephanie Maier-Herbeck (41) 

MMag. Stephanie Maier-Herbeck has been active in the field of public law at CERHA HEMPEL since she started training to become an attorney, focusing primarily on data protection law, whilst also covering the interface between civil law and civil proceedings. She advises national and international clients from a wide range of industry sectors, including start-ups, in particular in connection with setting up and designing data protection management systems, and she regularly represents clients before the relevant courts and authorities. MMag. Maier-Herbeck studied law at the University of Vienna (Mag. iur., 2011) and also studied international business administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and at the University of Sydney (Mag. rer. oec. soc., 2008). She was admitted to the bar in Austria in 2017.

 

Dr. Claudia Hanslik-Schneider (40) 

Dr. Claudia Hanslik-Schneider has been with CERHA HEMPEL for many years and has extensive experience of advising public-sector companies in particular. Her areas of specialisation include state aid law and the law on subsidies, constitutional law (fundamental rights), administrative procedure law, energy law and regulatory law. She is the author of numerous publications on her specialist subjects. Dr. Hanslik-Schneider studied law as an undergraduate at the University of Vienna (Mag. iur. 2008) and did her doctorate at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (Dr. iur. 2012). After working as a university assistant at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and as a legal adviser at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, she was admitted to the bar in Austria in 2019.

 

Alistair Gillespie, LL.M. BSc. (37)

Alistair Gillespie, LL.M., BSc., has been with CERHA HEMPEL since 2015 when he began his career as a legal assistant. He advises national and international clients, particularly in the areas of real estate and construction, corporate law and mergers and acquisitions.

His main focus is on advising clients on complex property transactions. He advises investors, project developers and companies regarding the purchase and sale of individual properties and property portfolios, hotel transactions, joint ventures and other property-related transactions. He also has extensive experience of advising on national and international M&A transactions and corporate law matters.

Alistair Gillespie studied commercial law and international business administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (BSc 2012, LL.B. 2013, LL.M. 2015) and was admitted to the bar in Austria in 2020.

 

Mag. Tobias Tangl (35)

Mag. Tobias Tangl has been with CERHA HEMPEL since 2023. He advises national and international clients, especially in relation to mergers and acquisitions and corporate law.  His practice focuses on supporting growth companies throughout their entire life cycle, as well as advising venture capital investors and strategic investors on funding rounds, joint ventures and corporate transactions. He also has extensive experience of providing ongoing corporate law advice to technology companies and start-ups. 

In addition to practising law, Tobias Tangl also regularly teaches seminars and gives guest lectures at the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt. Tobias Tangl studied law at the University of Vienna (Mag. iur. 2015) and was admitted to the bar in Austria in 2020.
