Hon.-Prof. Dr Georg Nowotny, former President of a senate of the Supreme Court, will in future support CERHA HEMPEL and its clients as Of Counsel.
Hon. Prof. Dr. Georg Nowotny is one of Austria's most distinguished legal experts. His judicial career has taken him from the Commercial Court of Vienna to the Higher Regional Court of Vienna and finally on to the Austrian Supreme Court. At the Supreme Court, he was on the expert panel for company law (6th Senate) for many years and served most recently as the President of the 6th Senate until his retirement on 31 July 2025.
On 1 December 2025, Prof. Nowotny will join CERHA HEMPEL as Of Counsel.
Prof. Nowotny is an Honorary Professor at the Institute for Business and Commercial Law at the University of Vienna. He is a highly regarded and sought-after speaker and author of numerous publications in his areas of expertise (including corporate law, company law, private foundation law, commercial register law, reorganization law, inheritance law, and civil procedure law).
