Edith Hlawati appointed CEO of ÖBAG

Today, the Supervisory Board of Österreichische Beteiligungs AG (ÖBAG) unanimously appointed Dr. Edith Hlawati as the sole member of the Management Board of ÖBAG.

Today, the Supervisory Board of Österreichische Beteiligungs AG (ÖBAG) unanimously appointed Dr. Edith Hlawati as the sole member of the Management Board of ÖBAG. Edith Hlawati will take up her new position on 1 February 2022 and will step down as a partner of CERHA HEMPEL Rechtsanwälte GmbH (CERHA HEMPEL).

For many years, Edith Hlawati advised ÖBAG and its legal predecessors ÖIAG and ÖBIB on matters relating to capital markets and corporate law. She provided legal advice on many of ÖBAG's most significant transactions and also advised on establishing the legal basis for Austrian state holding companies.

Edith Hlawati has spent her entire professional life practising law as an attorney at CERHA HEMPEL. As a partner, she was instrumental in laying the foundation for successfully developing the law firm's leading capital markets, banking and M&A practice groups. Edith Hlawati currently heads CERHA HEMPEL's Banking & Corporate Finance Team. From 2003 to 2006 and again from 2010 to 2012, she served as Managing Partner with responsibility for overseeing the management of CERHA HEMPEL. Since 2017, Edith Hlawati has been Senior Partner. Edith Hlawati is Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of Telekom Austria AG, Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of Österreichische Post AG and Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of Energie-Control Austria.
