The EU Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) has been in force for the better part of a year. Still, many legal questions surrounding its scope of application remain unanswered and new questions are emerging at a rapid pace. This article sheds light on some of the most pressing questions and tries to give some ideas of how to resolve them.
BULGARIA
Legislative Amendments Streamline Investment Promotion Procedures
Amendments to the Investment Promotion Act (IPA) entered into force on 27 May 2025, introducing measures aimed at improving the effectiveness of investment support tools and increasing transparency and efficiency in the certification of investment projects.
CZECH REPUBLIC
Amendment to the Labour Code
The amendment to the Labour Code (Act No. 120/2025 Coll., Labour Code) came into effect on 1 June 2025. It is the biggest overhaul of labour law in the Czech Republic in the past decade. The new legislation is aimed at increasing the flexibility of employment relationships, introducing measures that are in keeping with the modern labour market, simplifying and reducing the administrative burden, and, finally, supporting the reconciliation of family and working life.
HUNGARY
New legislation affecting the Hungarian public procurement market
Hungarian public procurement law is harmonized with EU directives on public procurement. Hungarian rules, however, make use of the derogation possibilities under European law that result in Hungarian public procurement regulations containing more detailed and, in certain cases, more stringent rules than European Union standards. Two recent changes are good examples of this.

National AI Law proposed to regulate the responsible use of artificial intelligence
Romania moves forward in the field of digital regulation by introducing a draft law on the responsible use of artificial intelligence, aimed at ensuring transparency, protecting fundamental rights, and preventing misuse in critical sectors.
SLOVENIA
Adoption of the Act on the Accessibility of Products and Services for Persons with Disabilities
The Act on the Accessibility of Products and Services for Persons with Disabilities (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 25/25, hereinafter the “Act”) was adopted on 28 March 2025 and will enter into force on 28 June 2025. This legislation implements Directive (EU) 2019/882, establishing accessibility requirements for selected products and services, and aims to ensure the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the internal market.
