The real estate team at CERHA HEMPEL has advised SES Spar European Shopping Centers on its acquisition of the "Il Grifone" shopping center. Located in Bassano Del Grappa in the Veneto region in Italy, the shopping center has more than 40 shops. Closing took place at the beginning of September 2023. The seller was a company in Luxembourg owned by the US hedge fund Marathon. As a result of this acquisition, SES now operates four shopping centers in Italy.
The international legal team was headed by Mark Krenn, partner at CERHA HEMPEL specialising in real estate. In addition to the Austrian team consisting of Marko Vladic (Attorney – Real Estate, M&A) and Johanna Kaschubek (Associate – Real Estate, M&A), the Italian law firm Gattai Minoli and Partners (Lead Partner Damiano Battaglia, as well as Nicola Martegani and Giulia Petraroia) and the Luxembourg law firm Arendt & Medernach were involved in advising SES. The seller was advised by Italian law firm Legance as well as Binder Grösswang.
