Asset-Referenced Tokens after MiCA – Legal Design, Risks and Market Reality

As part of the ViennaUP week and the Global Digital Asset Forum Vienna, CERHA HEMPEL, together with the Digital Assets Association Austria (DAAA), invites you to an in-depth discussion on asset-referenced tokens under the MiCA framework.

Following last year’s focus on stablecoins, this event turns to the next phase of regulated tokenization. Asset-referenced tokens raise complex legal and supervisory questions at the intersection of financial market regulation, innovation policy and Europe’s competitiveness as a financial center. How are such structures to be legally designed? Where do regulatory boundaries run between MiCA, MiFID and fund law? What liability and insolvency risks arise in practice? And how does supervisory practice shape the innovation landscape?

The format combines three concise impulse presentations with a moderated panel discussion, designed to provide practical insight from legal, supervisory and market perspectives. The evening will conclude with networking and informal exchange.
