Prof. Dr. Anne d'Arcy and CERHA HEMPEL Managing Partner Clemens Hasenauer led the workshop for listed companies at the 14th Austrian Supervisory Board Day hosted by Prof. Susanne Kalss and Prof. Werner Hoffmann at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU). In addition to hot topics regarding the qualification, composition and independence of supervisory board members, the lively discussion also covered capital markets compliance matters, takeover law issues and in particular sustainability aspects such as the relevance of the German Lieferkettengesetz for Austrian companies and the upcoming Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). One further interesting aspect of the discussion was whether the General Shareholders Meeting should be involved in strategic sustainability decisions by way of being granted a "Say on Climate".
