CERHA HEMPEL European Future Challenge - International Essay Competition

For the second time, CERHA HEMPEL has organised the European Future Challenge in cooperation with ELSA (the European Law Students Association).

Law students and young professionals from Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia are invited to participate in this international essay competition.

Each year, the European Future Challenge examines issues related to "Sustainability and green innovation in European law". This year, participants will focus on "Environmental social governance – ESG" or "Competition law and sustainability".

Prizes will be awarded for the best essay in each participating country (National Award) and for the overall winner selected from all essays submitted (International Award). Each national winner will be awarded a prize of EUR 500. The international winner will be awarded a prize of EUR 1,000 in total.

Sustainability is firmly enshrined in CERHA HEMPEL's corporate strategy. The responsible management of resources, economic corporate governance and stable relationships are integral parts of the firm's corporate culture. CERHA HEMPEL is also committed to giving a portion of its success back to society by participating in a variety of pro bono projects and through other activities to achieve its sustainability goals.

"It's also important for CERHA HEMPEL to be a leader in the area of sustainability and social responsibility. We look forward to receiving lots of entries and we're particularly interested in innovative ideas and the critical examination of current legal developments by young people in law", said CERHA HEMPEL partner Dr. Bernhard Kofler-Senoner, LL.M., co-head of the CEE practice group.
