On 10 November 2026 it will be that time again: CERHA HEMPEL is offering undergraduates, graduates and PhD students of law or commercial law the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of an M&A transaction. Take part in a workshop on "Due Diligence and Contract Drafting" and see for yourself how a large-scale M&A transaction is executed. CERHA HEMPEL is offering talented young people the opportunity to put the knowledge they have acquired at university into practice.
The Big Deal Workshop will culminate in a panel discussion where distinguished panellists will offer career tips for students of law. This year, we will have the honour of welcoming special guest Robert Machtlinger, CEO of FACC AG.
Please note: It is also possible to attend the panel discussion without taking part in the workshop. If you are unable to attend the workshop or if you have not been allocated a place on it, you are more than welcome to register for the evening event.
Admission only after registration and by personal invitation from CERHA HEMPEL. Please bear in mind that there are a limited number of places available.
Undergraduates, graduates or PhD students of law and commercial law will simulate an M&A transaction alongside experienced CERHA HEMPEL lawyers with a view to shedding light on all aspects of such a deal.
Participants will perform a variety of tasks ranging from organising the sales process, drafting a confidentiality agreement, dealing with restructuring issues, performing due diligence, overseeing merger control, signing and closing the deal, and implementing post merger integration. Working alongside CERHA HEMPEL's attorneys and junior associates, participants will discuss and develop solutions in small groups, using real-life M&A model documents.
Afterwards, CERHA HEMPEL invites all participants of the Big Deal Workshop and anyone accompanying them, as well as selected students, to attend a panel discussion and subsequent networking event in the Bel Etage.
Additional registration is only required for accompanying persons.
