CERHA HEMPEL Partner Dr. Hans Kristoferitsch, LL.M. and Attorney Dr. Franziska Paefgen, LL.M. gave a lecture on the topic "Aviation and General Data Protection Regulation – open questions and lessons learned" at the AMEC conference at the University of Vienna.

On 17 October 2019, Dr. Clemens Hasenauer, LL.M./MBA and Univ. Prof. MMag Dr. Sabine Kirchmayr (tax advisor and professor at the University of Vienna) gave a joint lecture on the "Acquisition of interests at times of crisis – distressed M&A". On 18 October 2019, Dr. Hasenauer moderated a panel discussion on the subject of "The private foundation as a gilded cage."

Hon.-Prof. Dr. Irene Welser, partner with CERHA HEMPEL, gave a lecture at the joint event held by the Vienna International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) and the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (KCAB) in Seoul on 23 September 2019. Irene Welser, as a board member of VIAC, discussed the “Advantages and Pitfalls of Applying Common Law Techniques in a Civil Law Environment” along with VIAC’s Vice Presidents Nikolaus Pitkowitz and Franz Schwarz and a number of high-profile Korean arbitration practitioners.
