CHSH at the GCM Parker conference on "Anti-Trust & Competition Compliance in CEE" in Prague

On 4 and 5 December 2017 the "Anti-Trust & Competition Compliance in CEE" conference, sponsored by CHSH Cerha Hempel Spiegelfeld Hlawati was held in Prague.

 

On 4 and 5 December 2017 the "Anti-Trust & Competition Compliance in CEE" conference, sponsored by CHSH Cerha Hempel Spiegelfeld Hlawati was held in Prague.

The conference was held for the third year in a row and its focus areas were on effective competition law compliance systems, dawn raids and updates about recent competition law developments with an emphasis on the CEE region. The conference was chaired by experienced in-house counsels, namely Daniel Zitek (Ethics & Compliance Counsel EMEA, Intel Corporation) and Ondrej Dostal (Compliance Officer, ČEZ, a.s.).

CHSH head of competition Bernhard Kofler-Senoner gave a presentation on "Vertical Restrains for online sales" and discussed "Best Practices and Practical Challenges in Merger Control Proceedings on a panel with Juhani Kostka, Associate General Counsel Competition Law of LafargeHolcim. CHSH senior attorney Márton Kocsis presented the Hungarian perspective in the panel discussion "CEE perspective on the implementation of the Damages Directive & Private Enforcement".

Other key speakers at this year’s conference included, among others, Andras Mohacsi (Head of Competition Law and Sanctions (global)", British American Tobacco Plc), Henning Lutz (Senior Counsel Compliance, E.ON SE), Reka Horvath (Policy Officer, DG Competition of the European Commission) and Marko Macek (Managing Director State aid and Compliance, Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development).

Numerous delegates, among them representatives from the business community, officials of National Competition Authorities, economic consultants and lawyers from CHSH's offices in Austria, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Belarus and the Czech Republic, contributed to a successful and fruitful conference. Furthermore, various delegates took part in an informal networking dinner event hosted by CHSH.
