Corporate law firm CHSH Cerha Hempel Spiegelfeld Hlawati has every reason to celebrate after winning yet another award: in the category Law firms with over 30 attorneys, CHSH received the "Promoting the Best – Women in Law Award 2018" in recognition of its excellent achievements in promoting the advancement of female attorneys.

This year for the first time, the "PROMOTING THE BEST" Awards were presented by the Austrian Union of Corporate Lawyers (Vereinigung Österreichischer Unternehmens-juristen) and Women in Law to legal departments and law firms which deserve particular recognition for digital innovation and their commitment to the promotion of women.

The Women in Law Award 2018 seeks to recognise law firms which since 2016 have recruited the best female lawyers and promoted their advancement. Equal pay models, promotions to top positions and being made partner in the firm, as well as paternity models, are commended among other things.

For decades, CHSH has distinguished itself by promoting diversity and it views this as a competitive advantage. It goes without saying, for instance, that the firm has female partners; this is self-evident. For many years now, CHSH has also offered innovative and flexible working hours and parental leave.

CHSH partners Hon.-Prof. Dr. Irene Welser, Mag. Julian Feichtinger, Dr. Peter Vcelouch, Dr. Manfred Ton, Dr. Anna Wolf-Posch, LL.M. and attorney Dr. Katharina Majchrzak received the award on behalf of the firm at an official awards ceremony held at the Looshaus in Vienna on 15 May 2018.

Hon.-Prof. Dr. Irene Welser, who heads the Contentious Business Department at CHSH, commented: "We’re extremely pleased to have received this award. For years it has been in our commercial interest to foster the best talent and ensure that the exact same opportunities are available to both men and women."
