On 28 and 29 November 2016, the conference on "Anti-Trust & Competition Compliance in CEE", sponsored by Cerha Hempel Spiegelfeld Hlawati Rechtsanwälte GmbH and organised by GCM Parker, was held in Prague. Dr. Daniel Zitek (Ethics & Compliance Counsel EMEA, Intel Corporation) and Dr. Johannes Dittrich (Senior Counsel Compliance / Compliance Officer for Head Office, Linde AG) chaired the conference and talked about their long-standing and international experiences.
The two-day event took place against the backdrop of current European anti-trust developments, in particular the e-commerce and geo-blocking sector inquiry launched by the European Commission. CHSH anti-trust partner Dr. Bernhard Kofler-Senoner also dedicated his lecture to this subject and additionally participated in the panel discussion on "The status quo of the implementation of the Damages Directive in Austria and CEE". Other speakers at the conference included, among others, Dr. Dirk Middelschulte (Danone), Miroslav Uricar (T-Mobile Czech Republic), Dr. Zsolt Wieland (OTP Bank Plc), Andras Mohacsi (British American Tobacco), Henning Lutz (E.ON), Zsuzsa Cserhalmi (European Commission, DG Competition).
Almost 100 delegates, among them representatives from the business community and anti-trust lawyers from CHSH's CEE offices in Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Belarus and the Czech Republic, contributed to a successful and fruitful conference. Further, various delegates took part in a get-together and networking event in the old town of Prague organised by CHSH.
