In the first of four workshops, coordinated by CERHA HEMPEL partner Thomas Trettnak (Corporate M&A / Restructuring), Irmgard Nemec (IP) and Florian Wünscher (Corporate M&A) gave a presentation entitled "Legal ABC for Start-ups. Forms of Incorporation and Protection of IP and Know-How". In addition to central questions surrounding the choice of legal form, the importance of IP and know-how protection as well as practical issues were also discussed. The Austrian start-up and venture capital scene as well as numerous investors showed considerable interest in the workshop.
The FOUNDER LOUNGE is a four-part series of free workshops aimed at founders and start-ups. Experts from BDO Austria and CERHA HEMPEL Rechtsanwälte GmbH share their know-how on a variety of start-up topics as part of the series of events created in cooperation with AVCO. For example, founders are offered support on issues ranging from the optimal choice of legal form, tax structuring and financing, to the creation of a flawless business plan and general contract law. The series of events also aims to allay the fears that are prevalent in the start-up and venture capital sector of having contact with consultants and lawyers and to involve the latter at an early stage to avoid mistakes being made during the founding phase, which later on can cost start-ups dearly.
