CHSH Partner Hon.-Prof. Dr. Irene Welser appointed member of the Board of the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC)

The extended Presiding Committee of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber has appointed CHSH Partner Hon.-Prof. Dr. Irene Welser as a member of the Board of the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC) with effect from 1 January 2015.

The extended Presiding Committee of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber has appointed CHSH Partner Hon.-Prof. Dr. Irene Welser as a member of the Board of the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC) with effect from 1 January 2015.

Irene Welser heads the Contentious Business Department at CHSH and has acted as counsel and arbitrator in international arbitration proceedings for many years. She is co-author of the "Austrian Yearbook on International Arbitration", co-organises Vienna Arbitration Days and she recently also gave a number of lectures during the VIAC Roadshow in Asia. Furthermore, Irene Welser – the youngest ever Honorary Professor of the University of Vienna at the time of her appointment – regularly lectures on international arbitration in other countries, for instance Germany, Turkey, the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the USA.

The Vienna International Arbitral Centre was founded in 1975 and is one of the most recognised international arbitration institutions worldwide.
