So, what's the Big Deal?
Save the date and join our Big Deal Workshop on 26 September 2022! CERHA HEMPEL is offering undergraduates, graduates and PhD students of law or commercial law the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of an M&A transaction. Take part in a workshop and see for yourself how a large-scale M&A transaction is executed. The Big Deal Workshop will culminate in a podium discussion where a distinguished panel will offer career tips for students of law. This year, we will have the honour of welcoming special guest Prof. Elisabeth Stadler, CEO of the Vienna Insurance Group.
Following the podium discussion, we will celebrate the successful closing of the M&A transaction simulated during the workshop.
Big Deal Workshop
This year's Big Deal Workshop and the simulated M&A transaction are all about the subject of Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPAC). After a short project description by CERHA HEMPEL lawyers, the participants will turn their attention to the basic considerations underlying the M&A project and set a schedule.
Participants will perform a variety of tasks ranging from organising the sales process, drafting a confidentiality agreement, dealing with restructuring issues, performing due diligence, signing and closing the deal, and implementing post merger integration. Using real life M&A model documents, participants will work together in groups to develop solutions which are then presented under the watchful eye of a supervisor.
Undergraduates, graduates or PhD students of law and commercial law will simulate an M&A transaction alongside experienced CERHA HEMPEL lawyers with a view to shedding light on all aspects of such a deal.
CERHA HEMPEL is offering high potentials the opportunity to put the knowledge they have acquired at university into practice and to take a look behind the scenes of an M&A transaction.
In the evening we celebrate! All participants of the Big Deal Workshop are invited to attend the Closing Dinner and will be guests at the subsequent podium discussion to be held in the reception rooms of CERHA HEMPEL.
