Before joining CERHA HEMPEL, Gábor was the partner responsible for leading the finance team at Jalsovszky . He has also worked for leading international law firms (Clifford Chance, Linklaters) and Hungarian firms (HP Legal) as a legal advisor in connection with financing deals, earning himself the reputation as a leading expert in this field.

He has in-depth experience in Hungarian and international syndicated, club and biliteral lending, energy, real estate and other project financing, acquisition, export and structured financing, PPP and other financing deals, where he represents both lenders and borrowers.

Gábor has been in charge of CERHA HEMPEL’s Banking & Finance practice group since 1 January 2023, when he joined Edina Nagy in the leadership role. With Gábor on the team, as well as several of his colleagues who arrived with him, the practice group has become one of the largest on the Hungarian market, and as its co-leader, Gábor will work to acquire new clients, add new types of deal and take advantage of synergies between the Banking & Finance and other practice groups at the firm.

“We have been successful in growing our firm despite the crises that have rocked the world in recent years, and that growth included the addition of new partners in areas such as M&A, competition law and construction law. We continue on this path as we welcome Gábor, an internationally recognised and highly experienced lawyer, who will further strengthen our Banking & Finance practice group. I am sure that the financial expertise of our new partner will not only benefit our firm locally, but the entire CERHA HEMPEL network across Central and Eastern Europe. We are pleased to welcome him in our team and wish him continued success,” said Tamás Polauf, the firm’s Managing Partner.
